Remnant 2's The Dark Horizon DLC added four new Traits to the game. Players will not have access to those Traits immediately upon starting the DLC, though, and they will need to perform some specific actions if they want to unlock them. This guide is here to detail those actions, and it will help fans get every Trait in Remnant 2's The Dark Horizon DLC.

Remnant 2: How to Get Barrier Trait
- Effect: Increases SHIELD amount by [1.5%–15%].
Barrier is the Warden Archetype Trait, and players who want to access it should follow this guide to unlocking the Warden archetype in Remnant 2.
Remnant 2: How to Get Perception Trait
- Effect: Increases Haste by [0.3% - 3%] and SLOW by [1%–10%].

Remnant 2: How to Get Preservation Trait
- Effect: Increases SHIELD Duration Received by [3%–30%].
As players explore Remnant 2's The Dark Horizon DLC, they will find that there are many illuminated obelisks scattered throughout the environment. While the vast majority of these obelisks glow yellow, there are three that are purple. To obtain the Preservation Trait, fans must find the three purple obelisks, interact with their terminals, and defeat the enemies that appear.
Here are details on how to reach the three purple obelisks, and they will turn yellow when the enemies that appear around them are defeated:
Purple Obelisk #1 Location

- Start at the Anterior Recess checkpoint in the Agronomy Sector.
- Stick to the right on the path beyond the checkpoint to reach a Glider station.
- Use the Glider to safely descend onto the landmass that is directly below its station. The first purple obelisk is on that landmass.
Purple Obelisk #2 Location
- Start at the Anterior Recess checkpoint in the Agronomy Sector.
- Stick to the right on the path beyond the checkpoint to reach a Glider station.
- Glide forward and to the left to reach the landmass on the other side of the gap, using air currents to maintain elevation if necessary.
- Walk forward and stick to the right to reach a second Glider station.
- Glide to the landmass that is directly ahead, using an air current to maintain elevation if necessary. The second purple obelisk is on that landmass.

Purple Obelisk #3 Location
- Start at the Waylaid Conservatory checkpoint in the Withered Necropolis.
- Walk forward to reach a Glider station that is just past a Remnant 2 NPC.
- Descend slightly and follow the poison river to reach an air current.
- Hit the air current, turn right, and glide forward.
- Hit the air current on the right, and look to the right. Players who look in that direction should see the third purple obelisk on an elevated landmass.
- Use the air current that is ahead to reach that landmass.
Remnant 2: How to Get Insight Trait
- Effect: Automatically generate [1–10] Mod Power per second.

Remnant 2 players who thoroughly explore The Dark Horizon will encounter two large crystals that they can destroy before fighting Alepsis-Taura, the DLC's final boss. However, it is not mandatory that fans destroy those objects, and players who break zero or one crystal will receive the Insight Trait when they beat Alepsis-Taura.
