Chapter 155 Scholarship

Our chapter continues to be committed to education opportunities for our members and their families. Students whose parents, grandparents and/or legal guardians are current members of Chapter 155 are eligible to apply. Individuals over 18 may become eligible by joining AFSA and being members in their own right. Two scholarships of $1,000 are awarded each year, one in each of the categories below. The application deadline for both is May 15th each year. The scholarship check will be mailed directly to the successful applicant at the home address. NOTE:  A student who subsequently receives a full scholarship or grant from the school is not eligible for an award.

 

CMSgt David L. Eaton, scholarship ($1,000.00)
Graduating High School Seniors
This award, in memory of David Eaton, is granted to a dependent of a parent, grandparent and/or legal guardian who is a current member of Chapter 155. This scholarship is awarded to successful applicant who has been accepted and will be entering their first post secondary education program. Graduating high school seniors entering the 1st year of college of a parent, grandparent and/or legal guardian, who are current Chapter 155 members are eligible to apply for this scholarship.

SMSGT William Sowers, scholarship ($1,000.00)
Continuing Education
This award, in memory of William Sowers is granted to a member and/or a dependent of a parent, grandparent and/or legal guardian, who is a member of Chapter 155. This is a grant for continuing education. The student must be enrolled in an accredited institution and have completed at least one semester or term. Continuing education for members and/or legal dependent students in 2nd, 3rd and 4th years of school of a parent, grandparent or legal guardian, who are current Chapter 155 members are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
